Never Drive In The Rain With Your Cruise Control On

A 36-year-old female had an accident several weeks ago and totalled her car. Her car suddenly began to hydroplane and literally flew through the air. When she explained to the policeman what had happened, he told her something that every driver should know - NEVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH YOUR CRUISE CONTROL ON.

She thought she was being cautious by setting the cruise control and maintaining a safe consistent speed in the rain, but the policeman told her that if the cruise control is on and your car begins to hydroplane -- when your tyres lose contact with the pavement, your car will accelerate to a higher rate of speed and you take off like and airplane.

This blog is to inform everyone- family, friends, that they should never use the cruise control when the pavement is wet or icy. Cruise control should be only used when they road is dry.

Sometimes Spending More Pays Off

A year back in Manila, I was invited to go on a "field trip" down south, but decided not to go because I was not in the mood of traveling.
On the late afternoon, I got a call and found out that my friends who went on the "field trip" got into a bad accident. It was caused by a bus smashing the back of my friends Volvo sedan because the bus has lost its breaks. Due to the collision, their car hit two other cars in front, which caused a bing problem in South Super Highway.
Good news was, none of my friends or any other civilian got hurt. When the car was towed away to the junk yard and tested, the Volvo crew suggested that they would have been dead if they were in any other car. Volvo, being known to be the safest car in the road, saved my friends from any mishaps or deaths.
Apparently, the day before the accident there was another huge accident which involved a bus losing its breaks again, but unfortunately, the people in the other car all died. Volvo can be a very expensive car, but sometimes, money should not be an issue when it comes to a person's life. I mean, there is no point spending on other expensive things if it is nothing but a useless material, but spending on something that can actually save your life will surely be worth a lot more since life is irreplaceable.
